GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide (Gly-His-Lys) that is best known for its role in skin remodelling and wound healing. It acts by modulating gene expression, including collagen synthesis, and has been studied extensively in topical formulations for photoaged skin. Plasma half-life is approximately 2 hours. In injection-based protocols, it is typically dosed subcutaneously for systemic effects. Users should track injection site reactions, cumulative dosing, and any changes in skin appearance or recovery time.

Mechanism

A naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide (Gly-His-Lys). It is best characterized in skin research, where it is associated with modulation of gene expression related to collagen synthesis and tissue remodeling.

Research summary

Most robust evidence is from topical dermatology and wound-healing research. Systemic (injectable) human data are limited, and it is not an FDA-approved drug for systemic use.

Reported side effects

Topical use is generally reported as well tolerated, with occasional local irritation. Systemic safety is not well characterized due to limited human data.
