Research summary
Investigational and not FDA-approved. It has been studied for weight management and type 2 diabetes, with trials reported particularly in China. Larger-scale evaluation continues per the literature.
Reported side effects
Gastrointestinal effects are the most commonly reported in trials, consistent with the incretin class. Given glucagon activity, metabolic parameters are monitored. The full safety profile is not yet established.
