> PLACEHOLDER — pending clinical review by licensed pharmacist. Sermorelin is the synthetic 1-29 amino-acid fragment of endogenous growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It retains full GHRH receptor activity but has a very short plasma half-life of approximately 12 minutes due to rapid DPP-IV cleavage. It was formerly approved for diagnostic testing of GH reserve and has been used off-label for GH pulse stimulation. The very short half-life means it must be dosed with careful timing relative to meals. Sermorelin is a foundational compound in many GH peptide protocols and is frequently tracked alongside GH secretagogues.
Mechanism
A GHRH analog corresponding to GHRH(1-29). It stimulates the GHRH receptor to promote endogenous, pulsatile growth-hormone release. It has a short duration of action relative to modified analogs.
Research summary
Historically used as a diagnostic agent for growth-hormone secretion and studied in growth-hormone-related contexts. A branded product was previously marketed; availability and regulatory status have changed over time. Long-term outcome data for non-diagnostic uses are limited.

Reported side effects
