> PLACEHOLDER — pending clinical review by licensed pharmacist. Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from tuftsin, an immunomodulatory fragment of IgG. It has been studied primarily in Russian literature for anxiolytic and immunomodulatory effects. The proposed mechanism involves modulation of the serotonin and dopamine systems as well as anti-inflammatory cytokine regulation. Its half-life is approximately 30 minutes. While not FDA-approved, selank is used in research and off-label contexts for anxiety and cognitive enhancement. Users should track dosing, subjective anxiety scores, and any side effects systematically.

Mechanism

A synthetic heptapeptide derived from the endogenous peptide tuftsin. In preclinical research it has been associated with anxiolytic and immunomodulatory effects, possibly involving GABAergic and enkephalin-related pathways; the mechanism in humans is not well characterized.

Research summary

Most research originates from a limited number of groups, largely preclinical or small studies, primarily in Russia where a related formulation has been used. It is not an FDA-approved drug, and independent modern clinical data are limited. Claims should be read against that evidence gap.

Dosing in the literature

Studies have used intranasal administration under research conditions. There is no FDA-approved regimen; this summary does not provide dosing.

Reported side effects

Controlled human safety data are limited, so the side-effect and long-term safety profile is largely unknown. Sourcing and purity are recurring quality concerns.

Stacking notes

Discussed anecdotally alongside Semax in nootropic contexts; there is no controlled human evidence supporting specific combinations.
