> PLACEHOLDER — pending clinical review by licensed pharmacist. DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a research neuropeptide. Poorly characterized in humans; not FDA-approved.

Mechanism

Delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP) is a naturally occurring neuropeptide first isolated in relation to sleep research. Its precise receptor targets and mechanism in humans remain poorly characterized.

Research summary

Evidence is largely older and preclinical, with small and inconsistent human studies on sleep and stress. It is not an FDA-approved drug, and robust modern clinical data are lacking. Claims should be read against that evidence gap. In July 2026 an FDA advisory committee (the Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee) voted 6-7, with one abstention, to recommend against adding this compound (referenced in the FDA agenda as emideltide) to the 503A bulk-compounding list, citing a lack of safety and efficacy data. It remains outside the regulated compounding pathway.

Dosing in the literature

There is no established human clinical regimen and human pharmacokinetics are not well characterized. This summary does not provide dosing.

Reported side effects

Controlled human safety data are limited, so the side-effect and long-term safety profile is largely unknown. Sourcing and purity are recurring quality concerns.

Stacking notes

Discussed anecdotally in sleep and recovery contexts; there is no controlled human evidence supporting specific combinations.
