# Tracking Semaglutide — What to Log and Why

A practical journal template for people taking semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy, or compounded). What to track, what's noise, and how to spot patterns.

<Disclaimer />

Semaglutide is a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist. People take it for type-2 diabetes, weight management, or both. Whatever the reason, the **data you collect about your own experience** is more useful than any internet anecdote.

## Why track?

1. **Side effects are titration-driven.** Correlating a symptom with a dose escalation gives actionable information.
2. **Weight trends matter more than weights.** Moving averages cut through noise.
3. **Your healthcare provider will ask.** Coming with a clean log saves time.

## Every dose

- **Dose (mg)** — what you actually injected.
- **Injection site** — which quadrant.
- **Time** — within an hour is fine.

Three fields. 10-second entry in TrackPep.

## Most days

- **Weight** — same time of day, post-bathroom. Daily fine; weekly too sparse.
- **Hydration** — GI side effects can dehydrate fast in early titration.
- **Side effects** — 1–5 severity. Empty is data too.

## Occasionally

- **Sleep** — if GLP-1s affect yours.
- **Appetite/cravings** — useful in the first 8 weeks.
- **Mood** — one tap.

## What NOT to log

- Every meal in detail.
- Heart rate every hour.
- "I felt off" without a severity or symptom.

## Common semaglutide patterns

Observations from literature — not predictions:

- **Nausea cluster:** peaks 24–72h post-dose during titration.
- **Plateau weeks:** weight rarely trends linearly. 2–3 week flat periods are common.
- **Hydration-symptom link:** low-hydration days sometimes correlate with worse nausea.
- **Site rotation tolerance:** re-using a quadrant within 7 days can cause local irritation. TrackPep's body map colors recent sites.

## Reading your data weekly

1. Weight trend with 7-day MA. Trending where over 30 days?
2. Side-effects timeline. Patterns by dose day?
3. Hydration consistency.
4. Site rotation evenness.

If something stands out, screenshot or export for your next clinician visit.

## Setting up in 60 seconds

1. Add a vial: Inventory → Add vial → pick "Semaglutide" → mg + BAC.
2. Log first dose: Doses → Log dose → tap body map.
3. Set hydration goal.
4. Log weight when convenient.
