Staying on protocol while traveling requires planning. Learn how to store peptides at temperature, pass through security, and log doses across time zones.

<Disclaimer />

Traveling with peptides adds logistics to an already busy process. Whether you are flying domestically or internationally, this guide covers the practicalities of keeping your protocol on track while away from home.

## Temperature management

Most reconstituted peptides must be stored at **2–8°C (refrigerated)**. Lyophilized (powder) peptides are more forgiving at room temperature for short periods.

Check the manufacturer guidance. Some GLP-1s (e.g., Mounjaro/Zepbound) can be kept at room temperature (≤30°C) for up to 21 days after first use. Others must stay refrigerated.

### Travel cooler options

- **Insulated vial case** — Holds 1–4 vials, gel pack slot, fits in a carry-on
- **Frio cooling wallet** — Activated by water, stays at ~18°C (below room temp) for 48 hours — no gel packs needed
- **Portable thermoelectric cooler** — Plugs into USB, maintains 2–8°C — overkill for short trips

## Syringes and needles

In the US, TSA permits syringes for personal medical use if accompanied by medication. Tips:

- Keep peptides in original pharmacy labeling if possible
- Carry a doctor's note or prescription printout
- Declare medical supplies to the TSA officer at the screening checkpoint
- Do not put syringes in checked luggage (risk of loss or temperature extremes)

For international travel, check the destination country's laws. Some countries restrict or prohibit peptides. When in doubt, consult a travel medicine clinic.

## Crossing time zones

If you dose on a fixed schedule (e.g., every 7 days), crossing time zones rarely matters — just stick to calendar days. For more frequent dosing:

- **Short trips (3–5 days)** — Keep your home timezone schedule
- **Long trips (1–2 weeks)** — Gradually shift to local time, one day at a time

Log your actual injection time in the local timezone. TrackPep uses UTC internally, so your timeline remains accurate regardless of where you are.

## What to pack checklist

- [ ] Lyophilized vials (backup, if applicable)
- [ ] BAC water (small travel bottle — \<100 mL)
- [ ] Syringes (enough + 2 extra)
- [ ] Alcohol swabs (10+)
- [ ] Sharps container (travel-size, or a thick plastic bottle)
- [ ] Prescription label or doctor's note
- [ ] Backup copy of your dosing log
